A baby will be born soon and future parents can’t wait to prepare everything for the baby. There is no fixed time to set up the baby’s room: it is a process. The children’s room is getting more and more crowded furniture and everything that is necessary.
Timing – This is something you need to take into account when planning your time
You should continue to buy baby clothes during pregnancy. Also, check out popular online children’s clothing stores and try to get deals. Consider whether the child should sleep in his own room. Many parents let their baby sleep in a crib or bassinet in the parents’ room for the first few weeks. You only need your own room if you really want the baby to sleep there. Child psychologists recommend sleeping in your parents’ room to promote social bonding. However, this can also mean that parents wake up more often at night.
If you want your room right away, use your maternity leave time to do the final furnishing work. This starts six weeks before birth. In some risk areas (e.g. working in a hospital) Maternity leave starts earlier. If there is no hard-working helper to carry out the renovation, the mother cannot wait too long. Other dates, such as Christmas and anniversaries, holidays and birthdays, should also be taken into consideration in order to be able to purchase everything on time despite your other commitments.

Planning your baby’s bedroom: Plan enough time
Pregnancy is a wonderful time that the mother should enjoy. There is no place for stress, and therefore the expectant mother should take the time to calmly walk around the shops. Planning the furniture – usually a cot, a changing table and a wardrobe – can start from the fifth month.
Even before the 15th week of pregnancy (SSW) you can get an overview of which baby accessories are available on the market. Use the time to read product reviews or find out which bottles and nipples you should choose. You will also need wipes, diapers, and other supplies, which you may want to find out about ahead of time.
From the 25th week you will be able to purchase the first onesies and bodysuits. You can also start looking for a changing table. Think about how the children’s room should be divided. From the 30th week of pregnancy you can start thinking about purchasing pacifiers and bottles. Choose a manufacturer for drinking bottles (milk and tea), as brands are usually not compatible with each other. Bath buckets or play mats should also be purchased now. Afterwards you can get everything you need to wear with a clear conscience. Now you know the approximate size of the child, making it easier to choose clothing. Plan a buffer in case the little one arrives first.
Renovation and cleaning works
For many people a blue wall in the boy’s room or a pink wall in the girl’s room is a must. If the baby’s room is to be painted and furnished in a gender-typical way, then you should know whether the baby is a girl or a boy. This can only be determined for sure towards the end of pregnancy. In any case, avoid bright colors: they could overwhelm the child. Other rooms also need to be set up, such as the crib in the living room. If the old study is to become the children’s room, the furniture must be stored elsewhere. Wallpaper, glue and paint continue to emit odors for some time which can irritate the child’s respiratory tract. Therefore, the renovation should be completed at least two weeks before the little one moves in.
Decorate the child’s bedroom
Most children’s furniture has a neutral color. If you are already sure that you do not want to make the child’s bedroom too colorful and bright, you can quickly purchase the suitable furniture in light wood tones or white. These do not yet have to be properly assembled, but can be tried out later – after the renovation – in different construction variants. Also pay attention to the delivery times: for urgently needed furniture the delivery date should be fixed and you should also consider the time required for assembly. With a neutral structure you keep all your options open. A neutral room, perhaps green or yellow with a bear motif, is also lovely. If another child is expected, the furniture can be reused, regardless of whether a little sister or brother arrives. If you keep the baby’s room gender neutral, you can add pops of color in light blue or pink after birth, for example with pillows or pictures. It is also important that furniture and mattresses can ventilate well to eliminate the typical smell of new furniture. Then, complete furniture arranging, hanging curtains, and rolling out rugs at least two weeks before the expiration date (ET).
Tips for your portfolio
Parents often receive many useful gifts for the baby when he is born. It may therefore be worthwhile to initially buy only the furniture you really need and then buy toys etc. or expressly ask friends and relatives to donate what is missing. Everything you want to see locally should be purchased early in your pregnancy. Because later on, the shopping spree can become too tiring. If all else fails, you still have the option of purchasing online. Avoid going on shopping sprees, but instead compare products and prices at your leisure. Instead of buying new clothes, you can check out the second-hand market.
The last tasks
The baby’s clothes must also be prepared, washed and put away in time, so that the new mother has everything ready and does not have to immediately do the housework again. Newly purchased clothing must be worn at least twice be washed before wearingto remove chemical residues from textile production. Since the clothing should not be too big or too small, pay attention to the size and weight of the child during the check. From this you can determine whether the child will be tall or small. On average you are safe with size 50-56. Finally, tidy up your cupboards after having aired them well and purchase small items such as bottles, baby monitors or breastfeeding pillows.
Conclusion
Expectant parents shouldn’t wait until just before the due date to set up the baby’s room. If the baby decides to arrive first, not everything is ready yet and, on the other hand, the pregnant woman finds it increasingly difficult as the circumference of her belly increases. Furniture to set and background. Plan your purchases and don’t let it stress you out, ultimately you want to enjoy your pregnancy.
