Electric scooters are great because they make it easier to get to work, shopping, or any other destination. Furthermore, electric scooter rides are very relaxing and fun.
But we have to admit that electric scooters are not perfect. Of course, the advantages they offer us are many, and you can discover the most important ones in this article, but there is also a disadvantage: autonomy.
In general, electric motors have a fairly low autonomy. But I’m at the beginning of the journey, so we need to be understanding. This is mainly due to the fact that progress can already be observed.

Electric vehicle manufacturers are achieving increasingly better range performance, which is cause for optimism. We all notice that electric vehicles can travel greater and greater distances on a single charge, and this is a great advantage.
Currently electric scooters have a range of around 20-30 km, but you will certainly find exceptions. Furthermore, there is the possibility of improving this autonomy. You just have to practice some tricks. And we intend to discuss these tricks in the following lines.
Here’s how you can improve the range of an electric scooter:
Choose a model that suits your needs
The autonomy of an electric scooter can be improved, but miracles cannot be performed. Therefore, first of all you should make sure that you buy the right scooter for your needs.
For example, you should make sure that the electric scooter you order matches your weight. If you are heavier than the maximum weight it can support, the battery life will most likely suffer.
Furthermore, try to reduce the weight that the electric scooter has to carry as much as possible. Don’t take things with you that you don’t need and if the scooter has accessories that you don’t use and that can be removed, don’t hesitate to do so.
There are many electric scooter models with different specifications, so pay as much attention as possible to the specifications. In the offer of our shop you can find many models, so among them there is certainly the perfect scooter for you.
Do not push the scooter more than it can handle
Fun and adrenaline are the distinctive characteristics of the scooter, but that doesn’t mean they should be abused. Don’t try to drive faster than the manufacturer’s speed limit, and also try to avoid difficult routes, such as those with very steep gradients.
The more the scooter is in demand, the more the autonomy will decrease. And you certainly don’t want that.
Make sure the tires are well inflated
Just as a car’s fuel consumption increases when running on flat tires, electric scooters will also suffer in such situations. Therefore, make sure at least from time to time that the pressure in the wheels of the scooter is at an optimal level.
In this sense you will have pleasant walks and, obviously, the most generous autonomy.
Do not use electrical equipment when it is not necessary
To have as many trips as possible you need to save. You can do this by giving up some electrical features. For example, only use lights when driving between cars, regardless of the time of day. You will be more visible in traffic.
In contrast, when you walk in the park, you most likely won’t need to use lights.
Add a better battery or, why not, an extra battery
First of all, know that such an intervention will void the warranty of the electric scooter and could also cause malfunctions if it is not carried out by a qualified person.
However, by far the best way to get a longer range from your electric scooter is to add a better battery or even an extra battery. Of course, there are both costs and risks, but you will definitely like the end result.
These are, therefore, the most important measures you can take to improve the autonomy of your electric scooter. Try them and you will definitely get the expected result.
