WHAT IS A VISION BOARD?

STEP 1: CREATE A PINTEREST BOARD FOR YOUR GOALS
Create a Pinterest board and pin images that reflect your goals, your vision, and how you want to feel in this next chapter of your life. Consider your work, your home life, your family life, your health, spirituality, social environment and all other important areas of your life.
Then break the big picture into smaller parts and ask yourself, for example, the following questions:
- What personal goals do I have?
- What professional goals do I have?
- What skills do I still want to learn?
- What do I want to accomplish within 30, 40, 50, 60 years?
- Which countries and cities would I still like to visit?
By asking yourself key questions like these, you can identify the focus of your goals. Now you can decide: do you want to create one big collage of goals for all areas of life or multiple vision boards for each individual area of life? Depending on your preferences, you can now create one or more folders with views in Pinterest.
When it comes to the visualizations you choose, it’s important to clearly connect them to your target idea. When you look at the visualization, you should be able to remember the wording of the goal and thus receive a motivational boost to follow the chosen path in a straight line.

STEP 2: DESIGN YOUR VISION BOARD
The next step is the layout of your vision board. One tool that can help you with this is Canva.
Canva is a graphic design platform for creating visual content and contains thousands of templates for various purposes. If you search for «vision board» or «goal collage» in the search field, you will get a large number of layout templates for creating a vision board. Select the layout you want and change it if necessary.

STEP 3: ADD IMAGES of your vision INTO THE VISION BOARD LAYOUT
Now you need to bring together your saved images and layout. If you worked in Canva, use the upload tool to insert your images into the Canva layout as you wish. Now you can use the target collage created as a desktop wallpaper or print it and place it on the wall above the desk or in the bedroom next to the bed to always keep it in view.
For example, if your template is on Pinterest, you can print the template and images and assemble them in the traditional way using scissors and glue sticks.
If you’re working in an app, you can easily paste previously saved images to Pinterest. The apps also offer the advantage that, depending on the app, you can also set reminders and always have your vision board with you.
It’s also helpful to create your vision board at the beginning of the year or at the start of a new phase in your life and then review and optimize it on a specific cycle, whether quarterly or semi-annually, so that your goals always stay current.
